A 30-second radio ad can pack a punch. But only if it’s done right.
Here’s the thing: Listeners don’t owe you their attention. You have to earn it, and fast.
Here’s a simple formula for a great radio ad:
1. Hook them. Start with something attention-grabbing: a question, a bold statement, or a quick jingle.
2. Get to the point. What are you offering? What problem do you solve?
3. Add personality. Be conversational. Use your voice, or let a trusted local DJ endorse you.
4. End with a clear call-to-action. What should listeners do next? Visit, call, go online?
Pro Tip: Repetition works. Make sure your business name and contact info are repeated at least twice. Three times is ideal. Also - rarely are people writing down your phone number and they certainly don't remember it. So unless its memorable: 1-800-Plumber, then do not worry about that.
At Peterson Media Group, we write and produce ads that cut through the noise. Want one? Let’s make it happen. Email us today: office@petersonmediagroup.net or call 931-393-3500.
