You just need to be present, consistent, and genuine.
Here’s how to make social media your friend (not your full-time job):
Pick your platforms wisely You don’t have to be everywhere. Focus on where your audience is. For most local businesses, that’s Facebook and Instagram. If you're targeting professionals or B2B, LinkedIn might be the move.
Post with a purpose Your content should do one of three things: educate, entertain, or sell. Show behind-the-scenes peeks, customer testimonials, product tips, or answer FAQs. Be helpful first, promotional second.
Engage, don’t just broadcast Comment back. Like posts. Share community news. Social media isn’t a megaphone — it’s a conversation. When your audience feels heard, they’ll come back.
Be consistent (not constant) Posting 2-3 times a week beats posting 10 times in one week… and then disappearing for a month. Set a schedule that works for you and stick to it. Using META Suite to schedule posts is also very handy.
